Applications for several 2015 Sea Scout opportunities are now available. SEAL, Sea Scouts aboard the USCG Eagle, and the National Boatswain applications are now online. In the coming months we will highlight each of these opportunities in more detail in here with Blog Posts and several Episodes of the National Boatswain Bearing, but Sea Scouts are encouraged to beginning to work on applications over Winter Break!


Seal BadgeSEAL, Sea Scout Experience Advanced Leadership, is a training program is designed to teach leadership skills while underway. SEAL is designed to “jump start” the junior leaders of new Ships and to fine tune leaders of experienced Ships. It is a hard core, physically and mentally demanding, and remarkably rewarding hands-on leadership experience. Applications are due March 1, 2015 and are available here,

Sea Scouts Aboard the USCG Eagle

Eagle SealEach summer several Sea Scouts are selected to join the crew of the USCG Eagle, a tall ship, for the adventure of a lifetime. Sea Scouts will live with the crew and participate in all of the activities that the USCGA cadets experience. Sea Scouts who are interested in a military carer are encouraged to apply for this once in a lifetime experience! Applications are due March 31, 2015 and are available here.

The National Boatswain

National Boatswain PatchThe National Sea Scout Boatswain serves as the youth representative for all of the Sea Scouts across the country. As the National Boatswain, the Sea Scout will sit on the National Sea Scout Service Committee and lead the four regional Boatswains that make up the National Cabinet. Applications are due March 1, 2015 and are available here.
